Illustrative Mathematics: "... illustrates the range and types of mathematical work that students experience in a faithful implementation of the Common Core State Standards, and by publishing other tools that support implementation of the standards."

Inside MathematicsClassroom Video Visits: "... explore real mathematics teaching and learning by exploring everyday classrooms where educators are working to refine their mathematics teaching practices..."

If you are looking for links to the articles and passages students read within the NYS ELA curriculum materials found on EngageNY, check here for a full-text copy first - arranged by grade level (grades 3-12)

The Gist (5 second video clip from BIG THEORY - "What's the Gist, Physicist") - in the ELA Modules, students are asked to give the "gist" of what they've read; this is just a fun way to ask for the gist

4 Square Paragraphs - this flipchart helps walk students (grades 3-4) through developing a paragraph. Use the Page Browser to see how to use each page. It includes a brief Activote quiz near the end to quickly check understanding of topic sentence, detail sentences, conclusion sentence and connecting words.

Coordinate Plane - (grade 5-9) great for teaching graphing concepts, this is a 4 quadrant graph with x and y axes; page 1 has quadrants labeled I - IV; page 2 has just the coordinate plane

Fact Beads Flipchart (Primary) - make fact families with beads on this flipchart

Fraction Bars - (3-6) - drag fraction bars and practice naming fractions and finding equivalent fractions

Hide Zero Cards - (Primary) 10's and 100's place value activity cards

Number Bonds - (K-4) use this page to copy/paste number bond graphic organizers on your flipchart pages

Number Lines - (3-7) use the blank horizontal and vertical number lines to plot integers, fractions, decimals, etc. using the pen tool

Place Value Disks - (3-5) practice place value with disks (no place value headings)

Place Value - Disk Method (K-4) - place value chart and disks to practice addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; includes a link to a flipchart from EngageNY about this method

Rekenrek (Primary) - looks like an abacus, but it's different - it's a rekenrek; includes an interactive rekenrek and a video from EngageNY about how to use it

Thermometer - (2-7) - drag the "mercury" up and down to practice reading the temperature (grade 6 math module 3 uses a thermometer; good for FOSS lessons, too)
